James English has been a teacher, school principal, and community college professor. He is working on a novel.
His short stories have appeared in Glimmer Train, New Delta Review, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Writers’ Forum, Hobart, The Harvard Advocate, Sonora Review, The Stockholm Review of Literature, The Drum, The Healing Muse, The Baltimore Review, Litro, and Mystery Tribune. The Nebraska Review nominated him for a Pushcart Prize.

James has a B.A. in French from Hamilton College, an M.A. in Spanish from Middlebury College, and an Ed.M. from Harvard University. He lives in Providence, Rhode Island with his wife, Betsey Purinton. They have three children.
